Your timelines have been buzzing lately on the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking news, a competition won by Mohammad Qahtani, a Saudi Arabian security engineer from Dhahran. Mohammad has survived seven rounds of this competition that lasted 6 months and included 33 000 competitors from more than 100 countries, and made it to the finals with 9 other contestants. As a matter of fact, Mohammad entered the contest for practice not expecting to win it at all. As he uttered his first word at the age of 6 and grew up teased for having a severe stuttering speech impediment, he chose to make a speech about “The Power of Words”, basing it on a personal life experience; "I used to be the laughing stock at school, but look at me now. If this can happen to me, imagine what could happen to you”, he said. Check out his full speech below.
