Leadership Assessment Centre

Overview

An International Consulting Firm in Saudi Arabia collaborated with PHI Management to establish a customised Leadership Assessment Centre, acknowledging the significance of developing internal leadership in the face of rapid expansion. The objective of this initiative is to expedite the advancement of senior directors, particularly those in the Advisory and Audit divisions, to the position of Partner. The initiative endeavours to establish a sustainable leadership pipeline by supporting internal talent that is consistent with the Firm’s culture and values.

The Execution

The Leadership Assessment Centre implements a multi-assessment methodology that is based on the Firm’s Leadership Competency Framework. This framework encompasses five critical competencies: strategic thinking, decision-making, collaborative relationships, team development, and inspiring positive impact. Competency-based interviews, case studies, role-play/group exercise activities, and e-tray exercises are among the numerous evaluations that participants are required to complete. The Wiley DiSC psychometric tool is also to enhance participants’ understanding of their leadership styles.

Participants receive detailed feedback through structured sessions with executive coaches, performance managers, and mentors, and objective and comprehensive evaluations are guaranteed by internal and external assessors. Over the course of 12 to 18 months, each participant creates an Individual Development Plan (IDP) that is based on the 70-20-10 development model. This plan emphasises on-the-job learning, social learning, and formal education.

The Value

This initiative has become a fundamental component of the Firm’s talent development strategy, thereby cultivating a strong leadership pipeline to fill Partner positions. By identifying high-potential senior directors and facilitating their career progression, the Firm strengthens its competitive position while promoting leaders aligned with its values. This method not only accelerates the development of leadership but also establishes a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organisation, thereby positioning the firm for long-term growth.
